SafeComm - Mobile Phones

Pera is enabling Sarantel, a UK start up company and their project partners, to radically develop an antenna manufacturing technology for the mass production of Sarantel’s innovative twisted loop antennae for the telecommunications industry.

Current phones cannot be reliably and accurately located using Automatic Location Indication methods. This is because of a 95% loss of mobile signal power due to the hand, body and head surrounding the phone. Sarantel’s type of twisted loop antenna allows all types of mobile phones to be reliably and accurately located without a significant reduction of mobile signal.

Citizens travelling abroad by car currently create a huge problem for emergency services; callers needing assistance often have no idea where they actually are or cannot speak the local language. Sarantel’s antenna will ensure that all types of mobile phones can be located using Automatic Location Indication methods.
