Matrasur and Sissons, two SME manufacturers asked Pera to radically develop a closed mould reinforced plastics technology for the manufacture of unbreakable sanitary ware.
The results achieved by the project have been such an initial market success for the partners, that they are using the enabling Impera technology for the development of new domestic sanitary ware and kitchen ware products. The European reinforced plastic sanitary sector is valued between €180-300 million per year over the coming years and is a new market opportunity that Impera technology has opened up.
Pera developed the novel closed mould reinforced plastic Impera technology which gives a range of benefits including lower cost, enhanced properties, greater design flexibility and improved manufacturing conditions over existing materials. These benefits also yield reductions in production costs, while maintaining product quality.
